Acton – State Representative Cory Atkins (D-Concord) and State Representative Jennifer Benson (D-Lunenburg) will hold a legislative forum in Acton to address constituents’ concerns about the future of solar energy in Massachusetts. The forum will be held on Monday, February 22, from 7:00pm to 8:30pm, in the EOC room of the Public Safety Facility located at 371 Main Street in Acton, Massachusetts.
The forum will provide an opportunity for constituents of the towns of 37th and 14th Middlesex Districts, (Acton, Ayer, Boxborough, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Concord, Devens, Harvard, Lunenburg, and Shirley) to discuss issues such as net metering, incentives, regulations, and other matters related to solar energy with their Representatives.
“I have heard from dozens of constituents who are concerned about the future of solar energy in the Commonwealth,” said Representative Benson. “This forum will allow us to address and discuss those concerns, while getting to the heart of some of the very technical issues that have begun affecting the development of further solar energy generation.”
Representative Atkins and Representative Benson will open the forum with brief presentations about the current state of solar legislation in the House of Representatives, and then they will facilitate an open conversation with opportunities for constituents to ask questions.
“My constituents have been leaders on this critical issue for decades,” said Representative Atkins. “I’m looking forward to hearing their views.”
